Hi, I’m Dr. David Stanley, an associate veterinarian at Taylor Animal Hospital in Parkville, Missouri. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science in 2003 and my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2005, both from Kansas State University. After graduating, I began my career at August Animal Clinic, then went on to practice at several clinics in the Kansas City area, including Gladstone Animal Clinic, Colbern Road Animal Clinic, and the University of Missouri Veterinary Health Center of Kansas City. I joined the team at Taylor Animal Hospital in 2022, and I have loved being a part of a talented team that is committed to providing compassionate care for pets and their families.
I am also a proud member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the Kansas City Veterinary Medical Association (KCVMA).
Why I Chose This Profession
I grew up surrounded by animals — everything from cats and dogs, to chickens, ducks, and rabbits — and developed a love for caring for them early on. That connection inspired me to become a veterinarian so I could spend my career helping animals live healthier, happier lives.
Favorite Part of My Job
One of my favorite parts of being a veterinarian is seeing my patients throughout their lives. It is so rewarding to be able to help pets when they are in need and then be able to watch them grow from playful puppies and kittens into healthy, happy seniors.
Personal Hobbies and Interests
Outside of work, I enjoy going to and watching Sporting Kansas City matches, following Formula 1 racing, watching movies, reading, listening to music, and spending quality time with my family, which includes our cat Cheesy, who we’ve had since he was a kitten in 2023. He’s been a wonderful addition to our home and provides a lot of laughs and love.
